 Dive Logs:
1. Blue Heron Bridge, West Palm Beach
Date:Apr 19 2003
Depth:20'
Visibility:30'
Buddy:Jen Galvin
Comments: Saw some really cool stuff on this one! Never dove in the intercoastal before. Can't wait to get back!
2. USCG Duane, Key Largo
Date:Oct 27 2002
Depth:110'
Visibility:80'
Buddy:Jen Galvin
Comments: This was the Deep dive for my AOW. It was also the first time I dove the Duane. This was a really cool dive that I'm looking forward to doing again. Had a bit of trouble with the exposure on my photos, but practice and a strobe will fix that!
3. Molassas Reef South, Key Largo, John Pennekamp
Date:Oct 26 2002
Depth:30'
Visibility:80'
Buddy:Jen Galvin
Comments: This was the only dive of the weekend that was not for our AOW. Saw lots of cool critters on this dive!
4. Unnamed Reef Patch (near Molasses and French's), Key Largo
Date:Oct 26 2002
Depth:30'
Visibility:80'
Buddy:Jen Galvin
Comments: This was my Underwater Photgraphy dive for my AOW. There were some divers from Harborbranch collecting sponges for a science project on this dive with us. Captain Steve picked a good location outside of Pennekamp for them to collect in.
5. Molasses - Winch Hole, Key Largo, John Pennekamp
Date:Oct 26 2002
Depth:30'
Visibility:80'
Buddy:Jen Galvin
Comments: This was my Peak Bouyancy dive for my AOW.
6. Elbow Reef - Mike's Wreck, Key Largo, John Pennekamp
Date:Jul 29 2002
Depth:30'
Visibility:100'
Buddy:Devin Campbell
Comments: This was a nice easy wreck dive. There is not a lot of the structure left of it, but enough to see that it was a ship. Of course, I didn't get any pictures of the structure.
7. French's Reef, Key Largo, John Pennekamp
Date:Jun 30 2002
Depth:35'
Visibility:70'
Buddy:Jen Galvin
Comments: We ended the weekend with another visit to French Reef. Again, the most interesting part of the dives was the cool rock structures and swim throughs.
8. Spiegel Grove, Key Largo
Date:Jun 30 2002
Depth:95'
Visibility:100'
Buddy:Jen Galvin
Comments: At the end of the previous day, Steve asked Jen if she though she was ready to do a little more challenging a dive. She was, and so our first dive on Sunday was the newly sunk Spiegel Grove. All I can say is WOW. This dive was fantastic. We were at depth for about 35 minutes and we didn't see a fraction of the wreck. We got really lucky in that we started our dive just when most of the morning dives were finishing, so the site was not crowded at all.
9. French's Reef, Key Largo, John Pennekamp
Date:Jun 29 2002
Depth:30'
Visibility:70'
Buddy:Jen Galvin
Comments: We finished the day with a trip to French Reef. The coolest thing about this site is the interesting rock formations.
10. The Benwood Wreck, Key Largo, John Pennekamp
Date:Jun 29 2002
Depth:45'
Visibility:30'
Buddy:Jen Galvin
Comments: After lunch we headed out to dive the US Benwood. The visibility was a little less here, but there was an amazing amount of marine life to view. I finally got to take a few pictures of Flamingo Tongues.
11. Molasses Reef South, Key Largo, John Pennekamp
Date:Jun 29 2002
Depth:30'
Visibility:70'
Buddy:Jen Galvin
Comments: After doing the north end of Molasses, we motored on down to the southern part of the reef to enjoy a little bit more of Molasses.
12. Molasses Reef North, Key Largo, John Pennekamp
Date:Jun 29 2002
Depth:30'
Visibility:70'
Buddy:Jen Galvin
Comments: This was our first dive of the weekend with Steve and Gabriel. We also met Lazaro (a common visitor to the online diving forums) and his girlfriend. This was a nice relaxing dive to start the weekend. As soon as we got in the water, a 5' baby spotted eagle ray swam by!
13. Clearwater Reef, Gulf of Mexico, Clearwater
Date:May 27 2002
Depth:45'
Visibility:15'
Buddy:Jen Galvin
Comments: This was the best dive that I've done in Clearwater so far. It is an articial reef made of concrete pilings, culverts and large tires. It makes for a very interesting landscape that is grown over with lots of different sponges.
14. Mark's Ledge, Gulf of Mexico, Clearwater
Date:May 27 2002
Depth:50'
Visibility:30'
Buddy:Jen Galvin
Comments:
15. North North Dry Rocks, Key Largo, John Pennekamp
Date:Jul 30 1999

Buddy:Devin Campbell
Comments: A simple, relaxing dive to end the weekend.
16. Elbow Ledge, Key Largo, John Pennekamp
Date:Jul 30 1999
Depth:90'
Visibility:100'
Buddy:Devin Campbell
Comments: This was a cool dive that started deep and followed a gradual incline up to about 40'.
17. North Dry Rocks - Christ of the Deep, Key Largo, John Pennekamp
Date:Jul 29 1999
Depth:30'
Visibility:100'
Buddy:Devin Campbell
Comments: This was my first dive in down in the Florida Keys! Devin had a little trouble with his gear, so no pics of the statue this time.
